If Jack was a food, he would be a burrito because they're warm and have a variety of options, so it never gets boring.

He wants to go to the future because, whereas the past is already known about, the future is completely unknown.

He is scared by chimpanzees because they seem close to humans in intelligence and strength, maybe even surpassing humans in the latter, so whenever he's around one he feels like he's at their mercy.
